-- About the Aircraft --
The BV p.111 was a proposed fallback design for the Luftwaffe's BV 138 flying boat. This proposed asymmetrical design configuration never ended up getting approved due to the BV 138's success, thus making it only exist today as a concept design. Very little visual reference and art of the BV p.111 design exists today, and so this made me naturally curious to attempt making such a unique looking aircraft design myself.
-- Modeling Workflow --
I started by blocking out the shape, and then aimed to make a mid-poly based off the limited references. Once I had the mid-poly, I duplicated it and made a high-poly version to then bake onto a separate lower-poly version.
-- Texturing & Paintjob --
I wanted to do a mix of realistic paint camouflage, but with custom decals and nose art inspired by King Ghidorah from the Godzila franchise. I made sure to use accurate RLM Luftwaffe camouflage tones (the blue-grey and green colors).
